The PERIOD Go With The Flow boat party was created by Berlin-based photographer Monika Kozub - also known as Berlin Boudoir -, and took place on the 16th of August, 2022. The party was developed to raise awareness about menstrual poverty throughout the globe and to collect donations of menstrual hygiene products for Hildas Haus, an organization for FLINTA* in vulnerable positions in Berlin.
*FLINTA is a German abbreviation for women, lesbians, intersex, nonbinary, trans and agender people. It represents an attempt to find an expression for a group of people who are discriminated against and oppressed by the patriarchal structures of our society. The term refers to the diversity and differences among people who suffer from and struggle against patriarchy. - Source: Hildas Haus

Each guest was supposed to wear red to match the period theme. The main combination was gold and red, just like in Monika's music video PERIOD. In the end, all the shades of red blended together beautifully.

Monika's PERIOD song was played at the party.

The DJ Larisa was amazing.

Monika held a short speech about the purpose of the party (to fight against menstrual poverty), and how menstruation matters. She also told us a little bit about Hildas Haus - the organization our donations were going to - and their mission. We also celebrated Scotland being the first country to offer free menstrual products!

Thank you once again to Monika for inviting me to this event and allowing me to register it. It was truly a pleasure and an honour to be part of such a beautiful and socially relevant project.
